About

Led by Alexandra Chand '21 & The Disability Working Group

During this event, you will learn how to call elected officials to advocate for disability rights-related legislation. We will learn about the difference between advocacy and lobbying, look at current pieces of relevant legislation at both the state and federal level, and draft emails and scripts for making phone calls. We will have a follow up event in February where we make phone calls and/or send emails to elected officials. The event will be an hour and twenty minutes total, with a break after the first forty minutes. During the second half of the event we will draft emails/scripts for making phone calls and participate in a group activity.
