Description
The Arts Advocacy section of the Volunteer Center is hosting a Saturday of Service to assist The Fox Cities Building for the Arts with their third annual Community Art Day, an event celebrating the visual arts in the Fox Cities! The event, taking place at the Houdini Plaza in downtown Appleton, is a fun, free day, where kids and families can come make and enjoy art. This year's theme is "Celebrating Cultural Diversity Through the Arts," and each art station will represent art from a different country. Volunteers will help guide children and families through a specific art project. It's a great way to get hands-on teaching experience or just to get involved with the community!

Volunteers will meet outside the Volunteer Center (near the Wriston turnaround) at 9:15am. We will then walk over to Houdini Plaza where volunteers will be split up and directed to wherever they are most needed. Following the event (1:00pm), we will walk back to campus. Volunteers are recommended to wear comfy shoes and might want to bring a snack since it's over lunch time.
