Delaney and I worked on a book report in the form of a menu on the Hunger Games. We worked on thinking of new titles, wrote a brief poem about the book, and Delaney also picked a scene from the book which she drew in comic strip form. She's super artistic, and we finished the final draft of her book report "menu".
This was maybe my favorite volunteer opportunity ever at Lawrence. Important exposure to the prison system and very humanizing. I would love to do this more regularly.
Super enjoyable, the group reacted very positively and emotionally and showed that they were inspired by our playing and what we were saying. They asked many questions about college life and about music at Lawrence University and were very interested in how they could keep music a part of their life past high school.
I had an amazing time with the kids and all of the Brother to Brother Members that attended also loved being with the kids. I would love to do It again.
