We worked on polar coordinates: graphing polar equations, plotting points, and converting between rectangular and polar coordinates in preparation for Maddie's last test of the year.
Today was my last session with Graydon and Logan. With Logan, we worked on different variations of subtraction and addition, there were some difficulties with subtraction, but we spoke those out loud. With Graydon, we worked specifically on finding the multiples of specific numbers after hand multiplying the numbers.
Delaney and I worked on a book report in the form of a menu on the Hunger Games. We worked on thinking of new titles, wrote a brief poem about the book, and Delaney also picked a scene from the book which she drew in comic strip form. She's super artistic, and we finished the final draft of her book report "menu".
Today, I worked with Graydon on mostly multiplication and a few addition & subtraction problems. We focused o doing multiplication problems up until 10 and Graydon got some exposure to multiplication of larger number.
We then finished off with a mixed problems drill, which he got 51 problem correct in 7 mins.
I worked with Logan today, specifically on Math. We focused on reading and understanding the clock, addition and subtraction in a mixed format. He finished off the last ten minutes of the session with a drill of 100 problems, where he only had to complete 25 of them correctly in 7 minutes. HE COMPLETED IT !!!
Today, I worked with Cole on creating a plan of action for his paper assignment that he had due. We worked on taking apart the prompt.
The tutoring session went well. Her reading ability has improved quite a bit since I started tutoring her last year, mainly not as a result of my work with her but rather as a result of the large amount of her free time that she spends reading on her own.
Today I worked with Graydon and the time was split into two parts. The first part he worked on finishing up writing a formal letter and in the second half of the session we worked on subtracting numbers with in the 100's.
I worked with Logan today on reading and writing, specifically from the reading of two books that were on his reading level. We read the two books and then wrote about The Who, what, when, where, why and how of the those two books. He had some struggles with the first book, but the second book worked out much better.
We worked through some review problems to prepare for the AP exam.
